Long or Smooth Coat? What are the differnces?? A little known fact is the long coated dogs do not shed any more the the smooth coats and in my personal opinion they shed less! They do not reguire much for grooming, the long coat is pretty much self cleaning (things do not tend to stick to it) and an occasional brushing/combing is it, NO haircuts! The long coated dogs tend to be more laid back, lovey dovey and devoted to their people then the smooth hairs. (Some say it is from the spaniels bred into them in development of the breed) The smooth coated dogs are usually the more active/busy and independent. So if the idea of shedding or grooming was stopping you from considering a gorgeous long coated little "Wiener" it may be worth reconsidering!!
